The Canadian Equestrian Championships were held from Sep 21-23 in Bromont, Quebec. PEI sent a team of 2 junior & 2 senior riders to represent the province and also to compete individually in First level dressage. Harma went with the team to coach the riders.

IWE student, Ambre Tawil had an amazing experience and competed very successfully with her mare Wanja and captured the individual gold medal. Congratulations to Ambre on this well deserved win! We are very proud of you!

Team PEI, consisting of Ambre Tawil & Tia Tawil, Abbey MacLellan, Anna Osinga did a super job! They brought home the team gold medal! Super job girls, it was a pleasure working with you all!

Overall Team PEI, dressage & jumping, won the bronze medal. Although, PEI is small it was truly mighty at the CEC’s!

Successful Clinic with Jaimey Irwin

IWE enjoyed a very successful clinic with Canadian Grand Prix dressage rider & coach Jaimey Irwin. We had 8 lessons each day and all horse & rider teams improved tremendously throughout the weekend. Jaimey is excellent at explaining things and our auditors also learned alot. It was without a doubt a very educational weekend for everyone! Thank you to Jaimey Irwin for coming over and the excellent teaching! It was a true pleasure!

Dressage Clinic with Canadian Grand Prix Dressage Rider & Trainer Jaimey Irwin.

Jaimey will be conducting a two day dressage clinic Sep 14-16 at Island Wide Equestrian. Lessons will be 45 minute private sessions. We have a variety of different riders and horses schooled at different levels and working towards different goals. It promises to be a wonderful learning experience. Clinics this caliber are very rarely given in PEI so it’s a unique opportunity to enjoy and learn from quality teaching and watch our Island dressage riders work their horses.

Jaimey’s system of training comes directly from the German legends of classical dressage. He trained in Germany with Holger Münstermann, the well-known World Cup competitor, who himself…trained with the highly respected masters: Reiner Klimke, Willi Schultheis, and Harry Boldt.

Jaimey teaches clinics throughout Canada, the USA, and Barbados. In 2011, he coached Roberta Morris and Tina Irwin to Team Silver Medal at the Pan American Games in Mexico and individual top five placing.

Used Tack Sale!

Island Wide Equestrian will be hosting a used tack sale in conjunction with our jumping clinic during the afternoon of April 14th,2012.

We invite all members of the PEI horse community to come out! Sell your unused items, find something new to you, and enjoy watching some of the jumping clinic.

If weather conditions permit, the sale will be held outdoors in our parking lot. If the weather does not cooperate, we will make indoor space available.

Please bring along whatever you will require to display your items (table, racks etc.). Sellers will be responsible for keeping their items attended. We suggest partnering with some friends so you can take turns manning the table and watching the jumping!

A BBQ lunch will be available with profits going to The Joyriders Therapeutic Riding Association.

We ask that those planning to bring items to sell send us a quick email at harma@islandwideequestrian.com and let us know. This will help to give us a general idea how much space will be required.

There will be no charge for selling items. Auditing of the jumping clinic is also free.

We look forward to seeing all of you there!

Another Successful Jump Clinic!

This past weekend, we had another successful jump clinic at IWE. Most of our boarders rode in lessons where we focused on flat warm up, gymnastics, and jumping a course. It was great to see the improvement our riders had made since the last jump clinic. It was a great day with many happy faces!
